10th Anniversary Celebration

Ms. Marsha Dandridge, AKC (Obedience & Rally-O)
I have been involved in the sport of dog obedience for nearly 20 years now, and have shown Golden Retrievers, an Australian Shepherd and a Scottish Deerhound. They have all taught me something different, and I wouldn't change those training experiences for anything. You definitely learn how to train dogs when you train the 'difficult' ones and I've had a few! I have three Utility Titles (UD), a Utility Dog Excellent (UDX) and a perfect score of 200. Additionally I have put hunting titles on the Golden's and it was so much easier than I expected having had such a solid foundation of obedience on the dogs!! Obedience training certainly does help you in all the other dog sports!

I've been judging for 10 years and I am the first AKC Obedience judge in a wheelchair. I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey and love to see new faces in the obedience ring. Thankfully my husband accompanies and ring stewards for me, so we typically make judging assignments a family affair. I try to make your showing a fun and enjoyable experience for both you and your dog when you walk into my ring. I hope you all find this so in your showing this weekend and I wish all of you good luck!!!

Mr. Kenneth Berg, AKC & Mrs. Eva Berg, AKC (Conformation Saturday & Sunday)
We consider it to be a genuine honor to be invited to again judge a Leonberger Specialty and thank the members of your club for your confidence in us. Our serious interest in the Leonberger began with our attendance at your 2004 National Specialty show in Boise, Idaho. We watched all of the judging, attended the seminar, and most importantly, met many exhibitor and their wonderful dogs. We were hooked on both the beauty and temperament of the breed!

Ken and Eva Berg have exhibited Dalmatians in conformation and obedience since 1967. They have bred over 80 champions, six nationally ranked, and numerous obedience title holders. They owned the Number 1 Dalmatian in America for 1991, 1992 and 1993. We have both have served on the Board of Governors of The Dalmatian Club of America for many years and both Eva and Ken have chaired the National Health and Research Committee. Eva has also chaired the National Judges Education Committee and Ken the Top-20 Committee. Eva and Ken have both been President of the Dalmatian Club of America Foundation. Both are members of the Dalmatian Club of Northern California and the Dalmatian Club of Canada, as well as a prestigious all breed kennel club.

Ken is a fire protection engineer who was President of his own national consulting firm. He is now consulting independently. Eva is a former high school teacher and has instructed in a noted Obedience School. They have two children and five grandchildren.

Eva is an American Kennel Club licensed judge of the Sporting Group, Non-Sporting Group, and most of the Working Group. She is also licensed to judge Miscellaneous Classes, Best In Show, as well as Junior Showmanship. Eva has judged National and Regional sweepstakes and has judged a number of Non-sporting, Sporting and Working breed Specialties. She was selected as the primary judge at the 2002 Dalmatian Club of America National Specialty show.

Ken is an America Kennel Club licensed to judge the Non-Sporting Group and about ½ of the Toy Group, as well as Best in Show and Miscellaneous classes. He has judged Regional Dalmatian and other breed Specialties and sweepstakes shows with large entries. Ken has been honored by being selected to judge the Centennial 2005 Dalmatian Club of America National Specialty show.

Ken and Eva have judged in Thailand, China, Brazil, Belgium, New Zealand and Australia. They have also judged multiple breeds and groups in these countries using local and FCI Standards. In addition, they have judged entire Rare Breed dog shows. They have presented breed seminars for judges on numerous occasions.

In addition to their involvement in Dalmatians, the Bergs have owned several other breeds. They currently own a Portuguese Water Dog and have owned Poodles, Scotties and Boxers.
